The Echo is in every word of the sense an Authentic Italian Restaurant. Home to an Italian Master Chef from Sicily it’s a true treat to dine here. Located in the new Spa Building at the Cinnamon Grand the cuisine is typically southern Italian with a quite a variety of dishes to select from. The sleek contemporary interior does make one feel that dinning here is a privilege.
The menu consist of a wide selection of Anti-Pasta, Meat Dishes, Pasta, Seafood Dishes, Pizza and deserts. Being a bit of a laymen when it comes to Italian food is not to be feared since they do have quite a descriptive menu.
When flipping through the menu I felt somewhat indecisive so the Manager suggested that I try their special starter which is an Anti-Pasta Platter. After agreeing to order this dish I was quite inquisitive to what may be served. To my amazement I found that the Anti-Pasta platter consists of a variety of different Anti-Pasta dishes some of which are firm favorites and some I’ve not tried before. A truly intuitive dish this is ideal for those who are indecisive or even those who simply can’t make up their mind since the menu is quite vast. Some of what was on the platter was the famous Melon with Parma Ham, Smoked Salmon, Roast Egg Plant on Toast, a salad, Picked Peppers, Tomato with Mozzarella. Echo also serves a vegetarian option of this dish. Since the dish is not on the menu one could simply request it from the staff.
Before the main course we decided to treat ourselves to something extra and ordered the Margarita Pizza which we is supposed to be the best pick. We weren’t disappointed when we dug in. Simple and great is how I could describe it. This is the true nature of good Italian food. I would say the Margarita Pizza is great to have with a nice glass of red wine on any occasion.
For the main’s I went with the Offobuco alla Milanese (shank of veal) since I was feeling particularly carnivorous and my friend went with the Ravioli Recotta e Spinaci. The veal was astonishing and extremely tender. It simply melted in my mouth with a burst of summery flavors. The potion was quite large so I was re-evaluating my choice on eating so many pieces of Pizza. The Ravioli which I helped myself to as well and left my friend frowning at was quite exceptional. The Chef had truly out done himself I must say
The Echo from the outstanding service to the exceptional food and the classy interior is in my opinion is an ideal place to take that special person out for a meal. I would recommend making prior booking since it is quite popular especially in the evenings. So if you have yet to taste the excellence of Master Chef Fgroi Guiseppe’s creations step into Echo and be indulged.
